Livermore High School has begun to get ready for the annual spring musical production.

Last year, the drama program was successful with the musical, “Urinetown.” This year will be the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, “State Fair.”

The musical has four principle roles for males and three principle roles for females. There is also a large number of featured roles and ensemble roles.
Dance combinations and the vocal numbers that are to be sung at the auditions will be taught on Feb. 1, after school in the theater.

The vocal auditions will be the following Monday, Feb. 4, with dance auditions the next day Tuesday, Feb 5. Both auditions are directly after school in the theater.

If a student gets a callback after the auditions, they will be in the theater immediately after school on Thursday, Feb. 7.

Rehearsals will begin after school from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on March 11, Monday through Friday.

Workdays on weekends in April are mandatory. Tech week, which begins May 4, is also mandatory.

The performance dates are May 10, 11, 15, 16, and 17 at 8 p.m. There will also be a Mother’s Day Matinee on May 12 at 2 p.m.
