In the spirit of the upcoming fall holiday, Halloween, pumpkin patches are back in town! From the excitement of carving a pumpkin, running through a corn maze, or petting live animals, pumpkin patches seem to be the ultimate amusement for kids. Within a 35 mile radius of Livermore, the top 5 patches are known as Moore Pumpkin Patch & Christmas Trees, Joan’s Farm & Pumpkin Patch, G&M Farms, Three Nunns Farm, and Dell’osso Family Farms. 

Moore Pumpkin Patch & Christmas Trees

Moore Pumpkin Patch and Christmas Trees is a smaller patch, recently introduced to Livermore in 2019. 

Moore’s is open 7 days a week from October 9th to October 31st. Monday through Thursday from 12 pm to 7 pm. Friday through Sunday from 10 am to 8 pm.  

Activities such as carnival rides, animal observatory corral, jump houses, seed planting, and wagon use are available. General admission is $5 per person (children 2 & under are free) cash, apple pay, and credit or debit payments will be accepted. General admission includes parking, wagon use, photo opportunities, animal observatory corral, and seed planting stations. Carnival rides and jump houses are an additional cost. Pumpkin prices vary per size. 

This patch is popular for a quick trip to buy pumpkins or participate in a festive activity. 

Joan’s Farm & Pumpkin Patch

Joan’s Farm and Pumpkin Patch was founded in 1990 as a smaller site. Today the farm is a popular locality for families during the fall season! 

Joan’s is open October 2nd through 31st (closed Mondays, except October 11th), 10 am to 6 pm. 

Activities such as hay bale maze, pumpkin bowling, little blue train, farm animal feeding, inflatable slide, Old West Town, and old farm equipment museum are available. The “snack shack” offers hot dogs, pumpkin pie, soda, water, and nachos. Pumpkin prices vary and cash is the only payment method accepted (an ATM is available on-site). Picnic benches and portable restrooms are also included on-site. 

Joan’s is a family-friendly pumpkin patch, with many fun activities for kids. 

G&M Farms

G&M Farms is a popular pumpkin patch found off highway 580 in Livermore. 

G&M Farms is open October 1st to 31st, Wednesday through Friday 3 pm to 6 pm, and Saturday through Sunday 10 am to 6 pm (closed Monday and Tuesday). 

Weekend activities include a hayride, pedal carts, cow train, jump pillows, and pony rides. The corn maze, however, has different open hours; Wednesday through Thursday 3 pm to 8 pm, Friday 3 pm to 9 pm, Saturday 10 am to 9 pm, and Sunday 10 am to 6 pm. G&M Farms will also host a haunted corn maze on October 30th. 

The admission is free, but pumpkins are available to purchase. The pumpkin patch is open Wednesday through Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm, and Saturday through Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. 

G&M Farms has become a great patch for families to socialize and participate in festive activities.

Three Nunns Farm

Three Nunns Farm has recently become a popular patch in the Brentwood area. 

Three Nunns Farm is open September 18th through October 31st every day from 9 am to 6 pm. The farm offers activities such as pumpkin picking, tractor rides, and corn mazes. Pumpkins can be purchased for .50/lbs, but the itty bitty pumpkins (under 3 lbs) are sold for $1/pound. The tractor ride costs $7 per person (children 2 and under are free) and includes access to the corn maze, corn trail, and pumpkin patch. Food is not sold on-site, but water is available for $1. 

Three Nunns Farm is a newer patch, but its growing popularity encourages many to check it out!

Dell’osso Family Farms

Dell’osso Family Farms is known as the largest, most popular pumpkin patch within a 35-mile radius of Livermore, CA. The farm has been around for about 100 years, founded in the 1920s! 

Dell’osso is open daily from October 2nd to October 31st. Monday through Friday the hours are noon to last entry at 7 pm (attractions begin closing at 8 pm). Saturday through Sunday the hours are 10 am to last entry at 7 pm (attractions begin closing at 8 pm). On Halloween, the farm is open from 10 am to last entry at 3 pm (attractions begin closing at 4 pm). 

Dell’osso offers a wide variety of attractions, including the corn maze, spooktacular haunted castle, carousel, children’s interactive pirate show, mini golf, country store, pony rides, pig races, pumpkin blasters, gem mining, pumpkin patch, food court, pillow jumping, speedway pedal cars, ball throw arena, express train, animal zoo, kiddie playland, hayride, and tire pyramid. 

The general admission costs $16.95 per person Monday through Thursday, and $24.95 per person Friday through Sunday (children under 2 years are free). A season pass is available to purchase (valid October 2nd to October 31st) for $59.95 per person ($54.95 for Lathrop residents with ID) and includes all general admission attractions. General admission accounts for all activities except for gem mining ($8), pumpkin blasters ($8), carousel ($4), pony rides ($10), and pumpkin painting ($5). Food, merchandise, pumpkins, and seasonal gifts can be purchased for an additional cost as well. 

Dell’osso is a fun, certainly fulfilling site that is a great place to participate in fun, Halloween-inspired activities! Beware of crowds and long lines if you have small children.
