California Extends Vaccine Eligibility

California Extends Vaccine Eligibility

The long-awaited COVID-19 vaccination is now open to a wider variety of people in the state of California.

Phase 1A of the COVID-19 vaccination plan included healthcare workers and residents of long-term care facilities, meaning around three million people were eligible.

Now, California has moved into Phase 1B of the vaccination plan, which extends vaccine eligibility to approximately 12 million people.

In Phase 1B, individuals of the age 65 and older, as well as all employees in education, childcare, emergency services, food services, and agriculture, are eligible to get the vaccine.
