Here Are the Top Five Best Hot Chocolate Brands

The holiday season is here, which means cold weather and cozy clothes. With all the cold weather, you will need a hot drink to keep you warm. Hence the reason why I’m here to tell you my top five choices of hot chocolate brands.

1.   Ovaltine Rich Chocolate:

This delicious chocolate powder is my absolute favorite for hot chocolate! I usually add more of the powder than recommended to get a better and fuller chocolate taste. This hot chocolate is super easy to make. All you have to do is warm up a cup of milk on the stove or in the microwave then mix in two tablespoons of the powder.

2.  Swiss Miss Milk Chocolate Packets with Marshmallows:

Swiss Miss has many variations of hot chocolate mixes, but my favorite is the milk chocolate with marshmallows. I like the way the tiny marshmallows melt, and that they have a subtle flavor. I also dislike dark chocolate so I will always go with milk or light chocolate. This is another super quick and easy way to prepare a hot chocolate. All you do is follow the directions on the back of the packet!

3.  Nestle Nesquik Chocolate Powder:

The reason I like this hot chocolate mix is because I love the Nestle Nesquik Chocolate Milk. I could drink that stuff forever! The hot chocolate isn’t as good as the chocolate milk in my opinion but it is still better than some other brands. The way to make this hot chocolate is the same as the Ovaltine Rich Chocolate, so you’re only minutes away from enjoying a delicious drink!!

4.  Ghirardelli Premium Double Chocolate:

This one has a very powerful chocolate flavor, which must be why it’s called “double chocolate”. I will only use this one occasionally because it has such a strong flavor and sometimes it can be a little much. The majority of the hot chocolate I prefer is made the same way, warm up milk and add in your delicious chocolate powder!

5.  Hersey’s Milk Chocolate Mix:

Now, I know a lot of people enjoy using the Hersey’s chocolate syrup to make their hot cocoa or chocolate milk, but I dislike that. I’m not entirely sure why but it just doesn’t taste the same to me. It also might be a little too much on the dark chocolate side for my specific taste. This is the only one on the list that uses hot water instead of hot milk. To make this one you empty the packet first and then add hot water and mix. It still tastes good but it’s not as creamy as the aforementioned options.

I hope you will try one of these hot chocolate mixes! Happy Holidays!
