Governor Gavin Newsom Orders the CDPH to Activate New Lockdown Guidelines

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has released new lockdown guidelines until further notice. These guidelines are less restrictive than the ones put in place in March of 2020.

The guidelines were put out due to the apparent rise of COVID cases in the state, and the fact that the majority of the state has entered the “purple zone”.

In accordance with the new guidelines, the following businesses will close back down completely: bowling alleys, amusement parks, concert venues, and indoor playgrounds or activity places like Lost World.

Certain businesses can be open with modifications, like being outside and socially distant. Some of these businesses are: gyms, libraries, movie theaters, outdoor playgrounds, and restaurants. Another part of the new guidelines is a daily curfew from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The guidelines are being called “California’s blueprint for a safer economy”, and they will take place starting November 21, 2020.
