Top Five Candies For Halloween

Trick-or-treating has always been a fun holiday for me. I enjoy dressing up in costumes, carving pumpkins, and scaring little children. But the highlight of the night is the haul of candy I get to bring home and devour. No matter how old I get, my preference in Halloween candy will always remain. So here listed are my top five candies ranked from worst to best.

  1. Hot Tamales

The spicy sensation combined with the cinnamon scent and sweet flavor makes this candy “top five” material. They are unique in taste and great for anyone that loves spicy stuff. I have grown quite fond of them over the years.

  1. Reese’s

This is for the peanut butter-chocolate lovers out there. Reese’s is a peanut butter cup covered in chocolate and wrapped for your enjoyment. I enjoy the combination of salty, savory tastes combined with the sweet tasting flavors.

  1. Chocolate

This category includes Twix bars, Hershey chocolate, 3 Musketeers, and more. They are all quite similar in that they all are chocolate based candies with caramel, nougat, plain chocolate or another kind of filling. I find them to be pretty boring and generic, but I have to respect the classics.

  1. Skittles

Taste the rainbow. This colorful candy is bursting with sweet fruity flavor and is my sweet tooth’s best friend. I will eat these at any time of the year on any occasion with no questions asked.

  1. Candy Corn

Candy corn is a seasonal fall candy that can make my taste buds tingle at how extremely sweet it is. Everyone I know hates it, but the nostalgia associated with the autumn season and specifically, Halloween, makes this candy my number one.

These candies are very near and dear to my heart. All of them are a little different in comparison to each other, but still very tasty. While Halloween may look a little different this year due to social distancing, I definitely will still be enjoying these candies from home!
