People tend to ignore Thanksgiving in favor of more popular holidays centered around getting things for free as well as spending more money.

Halloween merchandise is usually in stores early September and usually Christmas decorations are in stores a few weeks before Halloween. It is very rare to see decorations centered around Thanksgiving and when I do it’s usually fall themed or has some sort of turkey or pumpkin on it.

I just wish they advertised more Thanksgiving products like the Yankee candles scented like pumpkin spice or fall harvest. I don’t understand why they won’t advertise more food for Thanksgiving rather than when everyone is trying to buy items and things become hectic and buying turkeys become a full on war.

Thanksgiving is about giving thanks for everything you have and should be more sentimental than just eating food. My family takes Thanksgiving as an opportunity to work together to make a delicious meal and tell eachother how thankful we are for one another.

Christmas is similar but I feel like people ignore Thanksgiving in favor of getting more presents and going crazy on Black Friday.

So in conclusion, people should acknowledge Thanksgiving as more than just a holiday for food.
